Things to See & Do
The Promenade is the perfect place to start when visiting this neighbourhood. Stretching a third of a mile above the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, it offers spectacular views of the East River, the Brooklyn Bridge, lower Manhattan and the South Street Seaport. The foot of the Brooklyn Bridge can be reached off the northern end of the Promenade.
The main street in Brooklyn Heights is Montague Street where there are plenty of shops and cafes. Other attractions include the Brooklyn Historical Society on Pierrepont Street, which offers free self-guided walking tour brochures that point out the many historic architectural highlights in the area, and the Rotunda Gallery on Clinton Street showcasing contemporary art exhibitions.
