Hudson River Park Carousel & Skatepark

Hudson River Park Carousel & Skatepark

The 36-passenger carousel with hand-carved animals is the jewel of Hudson River Park at Pier 62. And the park’s massive skateboard park that Tony Hawk has said is one of the best he’s every skated on is a delight for skateboard enthusiasts itching to practice their moves.

Rival to Central Park

There are so many things to do at this massive urban park from biking and boat excursions to mini golf and mooring. The Hudson River Park, with more than nine acres of grass and gardens, offers visitors ample space to bike, run, rollerblade or walk while enjoying beautiful views of the river and downtown New York.

The Carousel at Pier 62

The signature carousel at Pier 62 features 33 hand-carved wooden animals that are native to New York, a green roof that protects riders from the sun and a state-of-the-art sound system. There are places to buy snacks and you can even host your child’s birthday party there.

Pier 62 Skatepark

This free, 15,000 square feet skatepark is skateboarder heaven, with a five-foot spine, beginner Ollie Zone and an Intermediate Fun Box with a 24-foot ledge. Skaters are advised to wear helmets at all times and kneepads, elbow pads and wrist guards are strongly recommended.
