We had the pleasure of staying at the Sofitel Hotel in New York City this past weekend and it was wonderful. From the moment we reached the hotel – the valet parking to check-in to the room itself, everything was perfect.
Justin at the front desk checked us in quickly and very professionally. He also gave us directions to a few places we were looking for. The hotel lobby features a nice lounge area along with access to 3 computers where you can go on the internet and even print. The Concierge was very knowledgeable of the city and when it was raining, he offered us an umbrella to use. The doormen were also always at their post and helping guests with the doors.
We booked a Queen Superior room and it had over 350 square feet which is very good for NYC. The room was impeccably clean and well organized. The bathroom featured both a shower and separate bath tub. Even adjusting the temperature of the water (which is sometimes difficult with hotel showers) was very easy to do. The shower and sink was made from beautiful marble and bath products were by L’Occitane. The bed was as comfortable as our bed at home and had a cozy duvet. There was also a 42” LCD TV, a Bose radio and much more. Our room had a gorgeous view of the city and the Empire State Building. We paid a little extra for this view but it was well worth it. The windows were also sound-proof to keep out the noise of the city and we did not hear a thing.
Each and every staff member we met greeted us and was always courteous and polite. We highly recommend the Sofitel and can hardly wait to go back. Future hotels we visit will have a lot to live up to compared to the Sofitel! Staying in a nice hotel makes the trip much nicer.
