This boutique with two locations in the Brooklyn area offers a distinct collection of women’s apparel and accessories as well as sewing and design classes.

A Passion for Fashion

Flirt boutique was opened in 2000 in a small space in the Carroll Gardens neighbourhood of Brooklyn by Patti Gilstrap, Heather Falcone, and Seryn Potter. The funky shop featured original eclectic designs handmade in Brooklyn. This unique boutique quickly caught the attention of local designers and soon the shop carried the clothing and accessory lines of some of the city’s best local talent.

The store flourished and in 2004 the Flirt women moved to a bigger space on Fifth Avenue, now Flirt’s flagship location. In 2007 they opened their spacious Third Avenue design studio in response to the growing demand from customers for sewing classes. Designed to inspire creativity, the studio features a trapeze hanging from the ceiling and serves as the creative space for designing the Flirt label and an open studio where you can work on your own projects.

The Flirt Label

Shoppers can expect to find one-of-a-kind skirts, dresses and tops in vibrant colours and patterns at Flirt Brooklyn. The Flirt label is constantly changing and Flirt prides itself on showcasing merchandise from independent designers ensuring customers can look forward to finding something different every time they visit.

Home Ec Classes

Flirt Brooklyn’s Third Avenue location features the Home Ec creative space which offers a busy schedule of sewing and design workshops. From classes on how to sew your own bag to summer sewing camps for teens, there is something to suit every skill level.

The Home Ec Open Studio is a supervised session where you can work on your own project and get guidance from the knowledgeable staff on hand.

Shopping at Flirt in Brooklyn, New York

There are two Flirt boutiques located in New York. The flagship Flirt is located in the Park Slope neighbourhood of the western section of Brooklyn at 93 Fifth Avenue (718-783-0364.)

The second Flirt boutique is located in the Park Slope/Gowanus area of Brooklyn at 303 Third Avenue (718-852-2889.) This location features the sewing classes and open sewing sessions. Overstock from the flagship boutique is available here as well as a collection of home decor items.
