BROOKLYN, NY, September 26, 2018 — The summer may be behind us but the fun isn’t stopping in Coney Island. With a line-up of fall friendly activities, visitors can still enjoy a variety of events and attractions in the famed amusement district.
From September 26th to September 30th, Celebrate Chol Hammoed Sukkot at Deno’s Wonder Wheel Amusement Park. Enjoy over 20 rides including the world famous Wonder Wheel and over 16 kiddie rides. The park will have a Sukkah located inside the boardwalk entrance of the park and offer guests a variety of Kosher food, desserts and beverages for purchase. Luna Park will also be open to the public on September 26th and 27th and all weekend long from 11-7pm.
One of Spotify’s most listened to playlists is coming to Brooklyn. On September 29th, Chance the Rapper will headline the RapCaviar Live Tour with support from up and coming artists like Sheck Wes, Tierra Whack and DJ Spin King at the Ford Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk. Halloween Harvest returns to Coney Island starting Saturday, September 29th and every weekend from 12-6pm until October 28th. Halloween Harvest at Luna Park offers guests many great fall activities without having to leave NYC. From picking your own pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, face painting, arts and crafts and this year’s new addition – Tillie’s Tractor Race where children get to race mini tractors through a hay racetrack. On September 30th, visitors to the Coney Island Brewery can drink and shop from the comfort of their outdoor beer garden. From 12pm-6pm the Community Market will feature local jewelers, artisans, tarot card readers and more.
On Sunday, October 14th, the dogs get to have some “HOWL-oween” fun too! Luna Park will be hosting the annual Halloween Dog Parade and Costume Contest at 11am. Get your pups ready for their chance to win some great prizes. Entrance to the event is free, but you must register your pup at lunaparknyc.com.
Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from October 14th to October 28th Coney Island USA will deliver an experience not for the faint of heart. Guests will take a self guided tour through the Kensington family house for a 4D experience where you will experience sights, sounds and smells that will leave you afraid of the dark. Coney Island is going pink on October 21st for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk of Brooklyn. Starting at 10am, walkers can enjoy some pre-event festivities inside MCU Park. Each year, the breast cancer walk is an opportunity to unite communities to honor breast cancer survivors and help raise funds to find a cure.
Rounding out the Halloween Festivities is the 9th Annual Children’s Halloween Parade and Costume Contest on Saturday October 27th. From 11am-2pm, the Alliance for Coney Island will host this free family-friendly event inside MCU Stadium where guests can enjoy a day of games, magic shows, bounce houses, face painting, caricature art, trick-or-treating and more. The official Coney Island Costume Contest will include categories of Most Creative, Funniest, Best Handmade, Best Group and Best Overall Costumes. The first 1,500 children will also receive a trick-or-treat bag full of goodies and a 2-hr wristband to Luna Park. The event is open to all children 14 years of age and younger in costume accompanied by an adult.
