Windsor Hotel New YorkWindsor Hotel New York is a 2-star boutique-style hotel in the Lower East Side, Downtown. Other than its excellent location for travellers who would like to discover Lower Manhattan, including Little Italy, Chinatown and SoHo districts which are within walking distance, there’s not much in the way of amenities. Because of that, the Windsor is also among the cheapest lodging options in the area, although its weak feedback score on popular tourist sites may be a reason for concern for some.
The hotel was established in August 2001 and has 41 non-smoking and wheelchair accessible guest rooms. There are a few room options to choose from, with one or two beds. This includes a standard queen room, deluxe double and twin room, and deluxe double room with two double beds.
The guest rooms are all air-conditioned, with free (and good) WiFi, cable TV, desk and chair, blackout curtains, laptop safe, ironing facilities and daily housekeeping. In the bathroom, you’ll find free toiletries, a hairdryer and a bathtub, without a separate shower.
Windsor Hotel New York also has an on-site ATM, vending machine and complimentary tea and coffee service in the lobby. If you wish, you can also use their small meeting room or get your daily dose of news with their daily newspapers. Unfortunately, there’s no gym or breakfast or any type of dining venues at the property. Because of the prime location, however, it’s easy to find something for everyone’s taste just nearby, like NoLIta and Little Italy.
Some of the other prime attractions in proximity include the New Museum of Contemporary Art and Bloomingdales, as well as Brooklyn Bridge and Ground Zero for someone who doesn’t mind walking an extra mile.
Overall, Windsor Hotel New York would be a good choice for a single traveller or groups on a budget who are interested in discovering the trendier part of Manhattan.
